Hayfield Camping and Caravanning review are based on a recent stay I had there. the limitation of my review is I was only there for one night.
The experience started with a phone call to the site where I was stated that I would arrive reasonably late. This was not acceptable I was told I couldn’t get on the site and that it was better to turn up the next day. No booking was offered for the next day. When I turned up they didn’t want to let me on to the site as I didn’t have a booking. I guess I was lucky they had some spare space but the site didn’t look full especially as my tent was about two meters squared. I won’t go into details about the price but as a non-member, the pitch was about £16 which seemed quite expensive. I went to purchase a chocolate bar and wasn’t allowed to pay for the both with my card, something about two different businesses. it wasn’t really customer friendly.
The staff did allow me on and were very pleasant. The camping ground is quite small with around 90 pitches.
first impressions of the website were good, it was clean and was well maintained. It’s nestled in an out of town located just outside Hayfield. It is great for access to kinder and a location perfect for a day on the hills.
The shower and wash facilities were clean and well maintained. There are plenty of showers and toilets.
D of E do stay on the campsite but seemed to be well located for least disruption.
You can hire camping pods.
